Congrats Phil!
Liz's brother Phillip is graduating from High School this week! Congratulations are due.
During the awards ceremony last night he was the only one to have a College Representative stand up and give a speech about his achievements and also his appointment to the US Air Force Academy. He's going with a full ride for pole vaulting... the boy apparently likes to fly - and he's definitely found the best school in the nation to get those wings! Congrats again!
Liz is off in MI for the graduation - unfortunately, due to scheduling, this weekend was also Shawn's bachelor party... which is not something I could miss... so alas I didn't get to be there to meet the family - but soon though!!
Last night was spent in the ER doing a clinical rotation here at Denver General - it was pure madness - and I got lots of experience with sticking people with IVs - completing the clinical was the last thing I needed to do to get my IV certification. I'm now officially a Wilderness Emergency Technician Basic with an Intravenous add-on - or WEMT-B IV fun fun.... now what?? Perhaps PA school while Liz is in her Nurse Midwife program?? Hmmm....
I'll add pictures of Havasu falls eventually... oh - and the Grand Canyon too...

We're Back...
Actually we got back last Saturday but work and life have been too busy to do much of anything.
The first of the pictures from our trip are online and can be viewed here:
We saw a rattlesnake on one of the trails which was cool.
There was one trail that led down to the water and a placed called Buddha Beach - it was covered with hundreds of rock cairns - and was quite the scene.
After mtn biking we spent the day at the spa in Sedona - then 4 days of backpacking to Havasu Falls, then 2 days at the Grand Canyon, and then drove home through Monument Valley, UT and Telluride, CO. It was a grand trip - and I'll post more details and more pics soon - but there are 656 pics that I have to wade through and edit and post... it'll take awhile. In the meantime, enjoy these and the ones posted in the link above:

These are the mountain biking pictures from the first four days in Sedona, AZ. It was amazing. The trails were a blast and were a great warm-up for the season. No huge uphills and nothing terribly technical. Great moderate rides. The scenery there is absolutely breath-taking. We soaked up some energy from the Vortexes and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The Quail Ridge resort where was stayed was awesome in that it backed up to open space and was not near any roads but near every trail. So we parked the car and rode our bikes everywhere all week. The last few pictures show the view from our back porch. Nothing short of incredible. We saw a rattlesnake on one of the trails which was cool.
